Richard Nadler is a German artist and exponent of the use of AI techniques such as Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) to create explosions of colour and intricate patterns, often inspired by Japanese art and culture. He has also collaborated with a number of artists to create code-based generative art, figurative art and even performance art.
COLLECTION HIGHLIGHTS
"Yamabushi's Horizons" is a seminal release of 128 artworks based on the Japanese concept of Yamabushi, revered as mountain priests or ascetic hermits in Japan, devoutly following the ancient traditions of Shugendō. The work were created using a custom AI model developed by the artist but reveal an incredible range of diversity and color. Regarded as one of Richards most recognisable works, Yamabushi's Horizons is one of our favourite pieces.
"Architecture 9" is a 1/1 piece from Tezos part of the earlier Japanese GenArt Collection. As ever the style and expression is clearly from Richard and this is part of a beautiful wider set, a good number of which we hold in the broader gallery linked below.
Finally, "Gerhard" is a somewhat different work. A collaboration with generative artist, Leander Herzog, "Gerhard" is a generative animation based on multiple layers of color and data, mixed, moved and painted over in realtime. With a nod to glitch art, the moving image is enthralling to watch as waves of pixels wash over each other in an ever changing landscape.
