ARTIST COMMENTARY
We asked Bombadil to introduce themselves and describe their inspiration and ethos for their unique style:
I began my creative journey quite a while ago, as I am a designer by education, and my inclination and desire to draw have been with me since childhood. I've always loved pixel art and retro games because they have the power to transport us back to childhood – something that will always be a classic and a cornerstone of the video game era.
Drawing inspiration from my favourite old-school retro 8-bit games in the style of Spectrum colors, I embarked on my creative path. As a creator of GIF files, I bring my works to life by animating them and capturing their movements. My goal is to bring joy to people with my retro-style game-inspired artwork, creating small, cheerful scenes that take them back to their childhood and evoke a warm sense of nostalgia.
